Biography

Jud Brooker wraps up his four-year distance running career on the track for the Yellow Jackets.....ran in six cross country meets in the fall and was among CU’s top three finishers each time.....placed 6th at the Aquinas Invitational with a career-best time of 25:24 for the 8K.....Jackets’ #2 finisher at the NAIA Nationals in 26:02.

2007-08 - NAIA Indoor All-American in the mile run finishing 6th in 4:18.21.....NCCAA All-American in the indoor mile with a career-best time of 4:17.78.....American Mideast Conference 1,500 meter champion in a career-best mark of 3:56.33.....NCCAA All-American in the outdoor 1,500 with a runner-up time of 4:02.85.....qualified for the NAIA Outdoor Championship in the 1,500.....ran in seven of eight varsity cross country meets and was the team’s #1 finisher each time.....turned in a season-best mark of 25:39 in the NAIA Region IX Championship.....NCCAA All-American and All-AMC First Team performer.....Cedarville Open champion.....placed 61st of 258 runners at the NAIA Nationals.

2006-07 - NCCAA Outdoor All-American on the track in the 1,500 meters with a 3rd-place finish in 4:00.08.....qualified for the NAIA Outdoor Championship and had a prelim time of 3:59.41.....posted a season-best mark of 3:57.53 at the AMC Championship which placed 4th.....member of indoor school-record 4 x 800 meter relay team with a time of 7:53.18 in the prelims of the NAIA Championship.....finished the cross country season as CU’s #4 runner on a squad that placed 10th at the NAIA Nationals.....recorded a season-best time of 26:18 at the NAIA Region IX Championship which placed 15th.

2005-06 - NCCAA Outdoor All-American on the track in the 4 x 800 meter relay with a runner-up time of 7:54.02.....competed in the 1,500 meters with a season-best time of 4:05.99 which placed 3rd at the NCCAA Nationals.....did not run during the indoor season.....got off to an outstanding start in cross country as a freshman before he was sidelined at mid-season with an injury.....ran in the first four meets and finished among the team’s top three finishers in each of the first three outings.....placed 20th in the Cedarville Invitational with a season-low time of 26:19.

High School - Earned four letters each in cross country and track at Penns Valley High School.....two-time conference champion in cross country.....ran a career-best 16:11 in the 5K at the 2004 Friendship Invitational to place 2nd in the Blue Division to lead team to overall title.....on the track, graduated with school and conference records in the 800; 1,600; and 3,200 meters.....two-time league champion in all three events.....PIAA state runner-up in the 1,600.....district 1,600 meter champ as a senior and was part of winning 4 x 800 meter relay district title quartet as a junior.

Personal - Carries a multi-age physical education major at Cedarville University.....born 3/22/87 in Des Moines, IA.....son of Scott and Jane Brooker.....both parents were four-year distance runners at CU.....mother was an NAIA All-American on the track and the first female track athlete inducted into the NAIA Hall of Fame.....uncle is CU track & field head coach Jeff Bolender.....has one younger brother.
