Cedarville University Yellow Jackets

Kevin Kuhn has produced a notable distance running career with the Yellow Jackets and returns for his final season.....will specialize in the middle distances indoors and the 3,000 meter steeplechase outdoors.....ran in five varsity cross country meets in the fall.....best 8K time was 26:38 to finish 15th of 91 runners in the Cedarville Open.

2007-08 - NCCAA 800 meter indoor champion with a mark of 1:56.62.....also earned NCCAA All-America honors indoors in the mile with a time of 4:22.20 to place 3rd.....posted a career-best time in the event of 4:20.88 at the Indiana Relays.....repeated as the American Mideast Conference champion in the 3,000 meter steeplechase in 9:28.40.....clocked in 9:21.35 in the prelims at the NAIA Outdoor Championship.....ran in six varsity meets on CU’s nationally-ranked cross country team in the fall.....finished among the team’s top four each time out.....had a career-best time in the 8K of 26:29 in the NCCAA Nationals which placed 20th of 156 competitors.....NAIA and NCCAA Scholar-Athlete.

2006-07 - Produced an exceptional track & field campaign in the 3,000 meter steeplechase.....placed 4th at the NAIA Championship for All-America honors with a career-best time of 9:11.33.....NCCAA national champion (9:32.77) and AMC champion (9:32.80) in the event.....also won the steeple at the Miami Invitational and Baylor Invitational running against NCAA Division I competition.....member of two school-record 4 x 800 meter relay teams.....joined Daniel Roberts, Kurt Groman, and Joshua Saunders outdoors to place 2nd in the AMC Championship in 7:49.83 while indoor foursome included Jud Brooker, Groman, and Saunders with a clocking of 7:53.18 in the prelims of the NAIA Championship.....recorded a solid cross country season appearing in seven varsity meets and finishing in the team’s top seven five times.....posted a season-best time of 26:30 to place 20th overall at the AMC/NAIA Region IX Championship.....Jackets’ #6 finisher at the NAIA Nationals in 27:11.

2005-06 - NCCAA Indoor All-American in the 800 meters with a season-best time of 1:58.18 and was part of national title team.....NCCAA outdoor 3,000 meter steeplechase runner-up with a season-best performance of 9:36.92 for All-America honors.....member of 4 x 800 meter relay squad that finished 3rd.....AMC steeplechase runner-up in 9:43.51.....qualified for the NAIA Nationals in the event.....ran in five varsity cross country meets as a freshman.....ran a season-low 27:01 at the Cedarville Invitational placing 41st of 122 competitors.

High School - Assembled an outstanding distance running career at Cedarville High School.....two-time All-Ohio Heritage Conference cross country performer and was the league individual champion as a senior.....went on to place 20th in the Ohio Division III meet.....two-time all-area selection.....member of Miami Valley Track Club cross country squad that placed 3rd in the nation in the Junior Olympics.....Ohio Division III state runner-up in the 800 meters on the track as a senior with a school-record time of 1:55.55.....district and regional champion in the event.....two-time OHC champion in both the 800 and 1,600 meters.....member of two conference championship teams.....invited to participate in the prestigious Midwest Meet of Champions.....helped state of Ohio to the team title by running the third leg on the victorious 4 x 800 meter relay team that turned in a winning time of 7:40.61.....Junior Olympics 2,000 meter steeplechase national runner-up.....Academic All-Ohio in both cross country and track.....National Honor Society student.

Personal - Dean’s List student as an exercise science major at Cedarville University.....born 8/16/86 in Springfield, OH.....son of Gary and Becky Kuhn.....older brother, Loren, is an assistant men’s basketball coach with the Yellow Jackets.....also has an older sister and another older brother.
