Biography
Kurt Groman is in his third year with the Yellow Jackets running the middle distances.....turned in a career-best 1:59.52 in the indoor 800 meters at the Findlay Open.....ran a personal-best 1:57.45 at the Emory Invitational.....also ran the 4 x 800 meter relay indoors and outdoors.
2007 - Focused primarily on the 800 meters as a freshman.....best time outdoors was 2:00.89 at the AMC Championship.....fastest mark indoors was 2:02.34 at the Findlay Open.....member of two school-record 4 x 800 meter relay teams.....joined Daniel Roberts, Kevin Kuhn, and Joshua Saunders outdoors to place 2nd in the AMC Championship in 7:49.53 while indoor foursome included Jud Brooker, Kuhn, and Saunders with a clocking of 7:53.18 in the prelims of the NAIA Championship.
High School - Produced an exceptional track & field career at Bluffton High School in which he earned four letters.....three-time All-Ohio Division III performer.....member of 2006 state championship 4 x 400 meter relay team that turned in a winning time of 3:23.27.....part of state runner-up 4 x 800 relay unit that was clocked in 8:07.59.....both relay squads claimed regional championships.....helped lead Pirates to a 3rd-place finish overall in the state as a team.....Bluffton finished 4th in Division III in 2005 and was 9th in 2004.....posted career-best times of 1:57.67 in the 800 meters and 4:38 in the 1,600.....Team MVP.....Academic All-Ohio.....two-year letter winner in cross country.....earned two letters in football and was part of two conference title teams.....played three years of basketball.....Eagle Scout.....National Honor Society student.
Personal - Dean’s List student as a mechanical engineering major at Cedarville University.....born 3/13/88 in Lima, OH.....son of Dan and Brenda Groman.....has one older sister and a younger brother.
