Cedarville University Yellow Jackets

Neil Klinger is in his fourth season with the Yellow Jackets as a distance runner.....key member of cross country squad that advanced to the NCAA Division II Championship.....compete in seven meets and finished among team’s top five in six outings.....best 8K time was 25:32 to place 33rd of 301 runners in the All-Ohio Championship.....finished 6th in the Great Midwest Athletic Conference in 26:03.....G-MAC First Team.....placed 37th of 158 at the NCAA Division II Midwest Regional in 32:07 for the 10K.

2011-12 - NCCAA Outdoor All-American in the 3,000 meter steeplechase by placing 3rd in 9:40.15.....fastest time was 9:25.80 at Miami.....Ohio Independent Championship winner in 9:46.0.....ran the distance events during the indoor track season.....saw action in five varsity cross country meets as a junior.....best time was 27:24 at the Friendship Invitational.

2010-11 - Member of NCCAA Outdoor runner-up 4 x 800 meter relay team that set a school record of 7:44.94.....foursome qualified for the NAIA Outdoor Championship.....set outdoor PR’s in the 800 (1:59.98) and 1,500 (4:11.35).....established indoor seasons bests in the 800 (2:05.37) and 3,000 (9:26.54).....participated in cross country in the fall for the first time in his career and was an NCCAA All-American.....helped the Yellow Jackets win the NCCAA title as CU’s #4 finisher placing 17th out of 186 competitors in 27:12.....ran in six varsity meets total.

2009-10 - Competed in the long jump and middle distances on the track as a freshman.....best indoor long jump was 20-feet 7-inches at Indiana Wesleyan while top outdoor effort was 20-0.25 in the Cedarville Open.....posted a personal-best time in the indoor 800 meters of 2:02.87 at IWU.....fastest mark outdoors was 2:02.76 at Emory.

High School - Three-sport athlete at Hilltop High School.....four-year letter winner on the track for the Cadets.....recognized as team MVP as a junior and senior.....set school records in the long jump, 4 x 400, and 4 x 800.....picked up three letters in football and was named to the All-Buckeye Border Conference First Team.....lettered in his only season of cross country achieving All-BBC First Team honors.....earned numerous academic accolades.....National Honor Society student.

Personal - Dean’s List student as a pharmacy major at Cedarville University.....born 8/2/90 in Bryan, OH......son of Charles and Julie Klinger.....has one older sister.
