Cedarville University Yellow Jackets

Ryan Gustafson is in his fourth season with the Yellow Jackets.....key member of the nationally-ranked cross country team.....ran in five meets and was among the team’s top six finishers each time out.....best 8K time was 25:48 which placed 53rd of 229 at Appalachian State.....CU’s #5 runner at the NCAA Division II Midwest Regional placing 53rd of 199 in 32:57 for the 10K.....team’s #6 finisher at the NCAA Division II Championship in 33:05.

2012-13 - Distance runner on the track team as a junior.....competed in the 800, mile, 1,500, 3K, and 5K.....finished 10th in the NCCAA Indoor mile in 4:31.80.....fastest time was 4:21.80 at Indiana.....placed 3rd in the outdoor 5K at the Yellow Jacket Open in 15:39.20.....appeared in seven varsity cross country meets and was among CU’s first seven finishers each time.....posted a career-best mark of 25:28 to place 5th in the Friendship Invitational.....31st of 301 runners in the All-Ohio in 25:30.....placed 7th in the Great Midwest Athletic Conference for All-G-MAC First Team honors.....finished 41st in the Midwest Regional in 32:13 for the 10K.

2011-12 - Competed in the 3,000 meters and mile run during the indoor season as a sophomore.....placed 4th in the mile at NCCAA Indoor in 4:20.24.....best time was 4:18.93 at Indiana to finish 6th.....ran the 800 and 1,500 outdoors.....placed 6th in the NCCAA 1,500 in 4:00.35.....one of only two runners to compete in all seven varsity cross country races and was in the team’s top seven each time.....repeated as an NCCAA All-American by placing 12th of 209 runners in a season-best time of 26:22.....finished 7th of 95 in the Friendship Invitational in 26:25.....ended up 90th of 310 in the All-Ohio Championship in 26:45.

2010-11 - Part of NCCAA Outdoor runner-up 4 x 800 meter relay team that set a school record of 7:44.94.....foursome qualified for the NAIA Outdoor Championship.....member of American Mideast Conference champion 4 x 800 squad.....placed 4th in the NCCAA Outdoor 1,500 in a season-best time of 3:57.63.....best outdoor 800 mark was 1:56.42 at Miami.....NAIA Indoor qualifier in the mile and was 4th in the NCCAA Indoor in a season-best 4:22.72.....fastest indoor 800 time was 1:59.64 at Findlay.....made a key contribution during the cross country season as a rookie for the nationally-ranked Yellow Jackets.....NCCAA All-American by placing 8th out of 186 runners in 26:51.....helped lead CU to NCCAA title.....season-best time was 26:21 at the NAIA Great Lakes Invitational.

High School - Competed in track and cross country during his prep career at Cary-Grove High School.....two-year letter winner in cross country.....earned all-region and all-conference honors.....member of two-time conference championship program.....earned two letters in track & field.

Personal - Geology major at Cedarville University.....born 10/7/91 in Arlington Heights, IL.....son of Grant and Marian Gustafson.....has one older brother.
