Cedarville University Yellow Jackets

T.J. Badertscher is a four-year distance runner with the Yellow Jackets.....wrapped up his cross country career in outstanding fashion highlighted by winning the NCCAA individual title in 26:08 and leading the Jackets to the team title.....three-time NCCAA All-American in cross country.....guided CU to the Friendship Invitational title finishing 6th in 25:56.....member of team that was the AMC runner-up and placed 15th at the NAIA Championship.

2009-10 - NCCAA indoor champion in the 5,000 meters in a career-best time of 14:57.01.....placed 19th in the NAIA indoor 5K (15:21.04).....finished 3rd in the AMC 5K (15:18.46) and was 5th in the 10K (32:48.28).....qualified for the NAIA Outdoor Championship in the 10K placing 23rd in 33:06.59.....cross country team’s #1 finisher in six of seven outings as a junior.....AMC runner-up in a career-best 8K time of 25:31.....All-AMC First Team.....placed 45th of 323 runners at the NAIA Championship in 26:03.....finished 12th of 255 at Aquinas in 25:48.

2008-09 - NCCAA Outdoor All-American on the track as the runner-up in the 10,000 meters with a time of 32:31.28.....placed 4th in the AMC 5K in 15:30.45.....best outdoor time was 15:18.67 at Cincinnati.....saw action in three indoor meets.....placed 6th in the NCCAA Indoor 5K in 15:43.21.....repeated as an NCCAA All-American in cross country as a sophomore after finishing 14th in 26:47.....completed seven varsity meets and was among the team’s top four on six occasions.....Friendship Invitational runner-up in a season-best time of 25:39.....Wittenberg Invitational champion.

2007-08 - Qualified for the NAIA Indoor Championship in the 5,000 meters and was timed in 15:30.08 in the prelims.....placed 4th in the NCCAA Indoor 5K with a season-best time of 15:29.57.....posted top times indoors in the 3K (9:09.69) and mile (4:36.46).....fastest time in the outdoor 5K was 15:10.83.....also ran the 3,000 meter steeplechase in 9:49.15.....moved up to the team’s #2 position and was among the top five finishers in all eight cross country meets as a rookie.....NCCAA All-American by placing 12th with a season-best time of 25:58.....earned All-AMC Second Team honors with a 10th-place effort in the NAIA Region IX meet in 26:25.

High School - Assembled a record-setting career at River Valley High School.....two-time All-Ohio Division II performer in cross country.....placed 17th in the state meet as a sophomore and 20th as a senior.....three-time state qualifier.....two-time Central District Division II Athlete of the Year as district champion.....earned All-Mid-Ohio Athletic Conference First Team honors three years.....member of two MOAC championship teams.....ran the second (16:05) and third (16:06) fastest 5K times in school history.....named the school’s Most Outstanding Runner in cross country his final three seasons.....two-time state qualifier on the track.....All-Ohio Division II in the 3,200 meters as a senior with an 8th-place finish.....two-time Central District Division II champion in the event.....four-time Marion County 3,200 meter champion and holds the school record at 9:33.....owns school indoor marks in the 3,000 (9:29) and 3,200 (9:52).....part of three MOAC track title squads.....Team MVP for both cross country and track as a senior and served as a team captain for each.....five-time Academic All-Ohio.....selected Teen of the Year by the Marion Star newspaper.....National Honor Society student.

Personal - Exercise science major at Cedarville University.....born 2/23/89 in Marion, OH.....son of Steve and Kim Badertscher.....younger brother, Ryan, is a freshman baseball pitcher at Tusculum College.....also has a younger sister, Amanda.
