Cedarville University Yellow Jackets

CAREER STATS 

Zac Bowen is a fourth-year distance runner for the Yellow Jackets.....competed in four cross country meets in the fall and was among the team’s top four finishers each time.....NCCAA All-American for the third consecutive year as CU’s #2 runner and 6th overall in a career-best 25:47 for the 8K.....helped the Jackets to a runner-up showing.....placed 20th in the G-MAC Championship in 26:26.

2016-17 - Saw limited action on the track as a junior.....best indoor 5K was 15:28.11 at Grand Valley State.....fastest outdoor 5K was 15:40.70 at Hanover.....competed in seven cross country meets as a junior and was among the team’s top five finishers each time.....repeated as an NCCAA All-American placing 15th in a season-best 8K of 26:12.....member of NCCAA runner-up squad.....G-MAC Second Team after helping CU to its fifth straight conference title.....placed 9th in the league meet 27:19.....team’s #4 runner in NCAA Division II Midwest Regional covering 10K in 32:28.

2015-16 - G-MAC Indoor Third Team as a sophomore.....placed 3rd in the mile in a career-best 4:29.28.....posted a 3K PR of 8:57.23 at Grand Valley State.....competed in outdoor track for the first time in his career.....finished 10th in the NCCAA 1,500 meters in a season-best 4:01.78.....recorded other PR’s in the 400 (54.36), 800 (1:59.65), and 5K (15:43.32).....returned from a long injury battle to compete in the final three meets of the cross country season.....helped CU garner its fourth straight G-MAC title by placing 10th in 27:18 for second team honors.....posted a season-best 8K of 25:51 to finished 15th at the NCCAA for All-America recognition as the Jackets claimed the national title.....team’s #5 finisher in the NCAA Division II Midwest Regional in 33:18 for the 10K.

2014-15 - G-MAC Indoor Third Team on the track after placing 3rd in the 5,000 meters in 16:15.54.....G-MAC Indoor Freshmen Team.....participated in just two other indoor meets.....turned in a 4:32.31 mile at Ohio Northern.....did not compete during the outdoor season.....G-MAC Freshman of the Year in cross country.....All-G-MAC First Team placing 5th overall in a season-low 8K time of 26:16.....one of three runners to participate in all seven meets.....finished 14th in the Cedarville Open in 26:45.....placed 74th of 202 in the Midwest Regional in 33:07 for the 10K.

High School - Graduated from Cedarville High School and produced an outstanding career for the Indians.....earned four letters in cross country.....four-time All-Ohio Heritage Conference performer achieving first team honors his last three seasons.....2013 district champion and all-region first team with sixth-place showing in region meet.....four-time Team MVP.....won four individual titles as a senior and qualified for the state meet.....notable three-year track career.....district 1600 meter champion as a senior and a state qualifier in the 4 x 800 relay.....2014 OHC Track Athlete of the Year with victories in the 1600, 3200, and 4 x 800.....five-time OHC champion.....guided squad to 2013 and 2014 district championships as well as conference crown as a senior.

Personal - Dean’s List student as a graphic design major at Cedarville University.....born 7/10/95 in Columbus, IN.....son of Ryan and Monica Bowen.....father was a four-year golfer for the Yellow Jackets and is the program’s head coach.....younger sister, Macy, is a freshman soccer reserve player at the University.
