Cedarville University Yellow Jackets

Carlyn Hanzel is in her final season with the Lady Jacket softball team.....will serve as one of four captains this spring.....started all 59 games she appeared in during the 2015 season.....ranks third all-time at CU with most games played in a single season.....posted a .270 batting average including eight doubles, a triple and one home run.....tallied a second-best 31 runs batted in.....ranked second on the team with four three-hit games - versus Mary, Ohio Valley, Urbana and Alderson Broaddus.....tied for second with seven multiple RBI contests.....ranks seventh all-time with 82 career RBI’s and ninth all-time with 475 at bats.....five career HR’s are tied for 10th all-time at CU.....posted a season-high three RBI’s with two hits and two runs scored in a 13-1 non-conference verdict against visiting Urbana.....National Christian College Athletic Association (NCCAA) Scholar-Athlete.....Great Midwest Athletic Conference (G-MAC) Academic Team

2014 - One of five players to start all 54 games during the campaign.....ranked second on the team with 182 at bats, a .368 batting average and 67 base hits.....tied for second with 11 doubles.....added two triples and two home runs.....tallied a third-best 38 runs batted in and 88 total bases.....put together a team- high 15-game hitting streak during the season.....reached base safely in 30-consecutive contests.....went 4-for-5 with two runs scored and two RBI’s in an 11-10 league win over visiting Kentucky Wesleyan.....posted a 3-for-3 performance with three runs and three runs batted in during a 13-1 non-conference victory against visiting West Liberty.....ranks in Cedarville single season Top Tens in games played, at bats, base hits, singles (52) and RBI’s.....Daktronics NCAA Division II Midwest Region Second Team.....NCCAA Midwest Region Team.....G-MAC First Team.....G-MAC Academic Team.

2013 - Appeared in 41 games with 36 starts.....produced a .252 batting average (29-for-115) including 16 runs scored and 13 runs batted in.....tied for second on the squad with two home runs.....registered 40 total bases and a .348 slugging percentage.....best day at the plate was a 3-for-4 performance with two runs and two RBI’s in a 12-5 win over visiting Salem International.....ranked third on the team with a .977 fielding percentage in the outfield - committing just one error in 43 chances.

High School - Participated in two sports at Potomac Falls High School.....four-year letter winner in softball.....four-year starter as a center fielder.....team captain and Team MVP as a senior..... team leader in hits, doubles and runs scored.....posted a .394 batting average......all-district selection during junior and senior seasons.....holds school record for most singles in a season..... led prep team in HR’s, RBI’s and On Base Percentage as a junior....three years of experience with the Ashburn Shooting Stars Gold travel team.....registered a Top 25 finish at the ASA Gold Nationals in Oklahoma City, OK.....two-year performer in basketball.
