Jessica Schraffenberger

Former Lady Jacket shortstop Jessica (Palm) Schraffenberger joined the softball coaching staff in time for the 2020-21 academic year.

Schraffenberger returned to her alma mater after serving as an assistant softball coach and fall events coordinator at Division III Covenant College in Lookout Mountain, Ga. from 2017 through 2020.

She helped guide the Scots to their first-ever appearance in the second round of the 2018 USA South Athletic Conference Tournament.

Schraffenberger was a graduate assistant coach at University of St. Francis (Ill.) from 2015-17. The Fighting Saints won the 2017 Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference regular season and tournament crowns ultimately advancing to the NAIA National Tournament.

The Crown Point, Ind. product was a mainstay on the diamond for the Lady Jackets during her career from 2012-15. She’s the school’s all-time record holder for games played (215) and games started (214).

Schraffenberger was voted to the first-ever All-G-MAC Softball Team in 2013 and earned a spot on the 2014 NCCAA Midwest Region All-Tournament Team.

A .274 career hitter, she was a member of three teams that won 35 games - the school record for most victories in a season.

Schraffenberger helped lead the Jackets to the 2012 NCCAA Midwest Region Championship, three NCCAA National Tournament appearances, and a berth in the first three G-MAC Tournaments.

She graduated second all-time at Cedarville in at bats (616) and rates in the top ten in runs scored (102), hits (169), triples (11), home runs (8), extra base hits (50), RBI (89), fielding chances (788), and assists (357).

Schraffenberger is a 2015 graduate of Cedarville University with a degree in sport management. She earned a master’s in business administration from the University of Saint Francis in 2017.

Jessica and her husband, A.J., who is an Assistant Director of Athletics Communication at the University of Dayton, were married on October 28, 2022.
