Leah Baker is one of seven rookies on the 2009 CU women’s softball squad....expected to contribute immediately as a member of the pitching staff.....produced a two-sport career at Grand View Park Baptist High School.....four-year letter winner in softball.....recorded 156 strikeouts in 165 innings pitched as a senior.....allowed 29 earned runs for a 1.20 ERA.....three-time Team MVP.....named to the All-Iowa Third Team in 2008.....garnered all-league and all-district honors.....earned four letters in volleyball.....captured the 2007 regional title.....named all-conference as a senior.....earned the school’s 2008 Citizenship Award and the Athlete of the Year Award.
