Biography
Morgan Arbogast is in her final year with the Lady Jacket softball program.....appeared in 41 of the 49 games last spring.....made 27 starts at designated hitter, one at first base and 20 in the circle as the squad’s ace hurler.....produced team-highs of 24 appearances, 20 games started, 12 complete games, five shutouts, 131 2/3 innings pitched, 99 strikeouts and a solid 1.81 earned run average which also topped the Great Midwest Athletic Conference (G-MAC).....also ranked in the G-MAC Top 10 pitching stats for 2018 in innings pitched, strikeouts, shutouts and complete games......struck out a season-high 10 batters in G-MAC contests against Ohio Dominican and Ursuline.....registered a .305 batting mark at the plate with five doubles, a triple and 10 RBI’s.....listed in ten of CU’s all-time Top 10 career pitching statistics including third in shutouts (13), fourth in wins (38) and starts (71), and fifth in ERA (2.37) and innings (463).....NCCAA Midwest Region Team.....G-MAC First Team.....NCCAA Scholar-Athlete.....G-MAC Academic Team.
2017 - Appeared in 42 games as a pitcher / first baseman.....posted an impressive 16-9 mark in the circle with a third-best 2.67 earned run average.....topped the pitching corps in starts (30), complete games (19), innings pitched (160), strikeouts (127) and shutouts (4).....recorded first career no-hitter including a season-high 10 strikeouts at Oakland City in the NCCAA Midwest Regional.....hurled all nine innings in a non-conference game against visiting Ashland.....drilled second career HR - a grand slam in a season-opening 8-0 win against Lake Erie in Clermont, Florida.....tied for most wins in the Great Midwest Athletic Conference (G-MAC).....ranked second in the G-MAC in starts, innings pitched and strikeouts.....appears in seven individual season Top Ten pitching categories at Cedarville.....ranks fourth all-time at CU in career ERA (2.60), fifth in shutouts (8), seventh in strikeouts (233), eighth in innings pitched (331 1/3), victories (39), games started (51) and complete games (39), ninth in appearances (61) and tenth in winning percentage (.537).....NCCAA All-America Third Team.....NCCAA Midwest Region Team.....G-MAC First Team.....G-MAC Academic Team.
2016 - Appeared in 44 games with 35 starts including 24 in the circle, eight as designated hitter and three at first base.....led pitching staff in earned run average (2.53), wins (13), appearances (31), starts (24), innings pitched (171 1/3), strikeouts (106), complete games (20), shutouts (4) and saves (1).....posted a season-high 12 strikeouts in a 7-0 Great Midwest Athletic Conference (G-MAC) win at Salem International.....hurled a 7-inning complete game with eight K’s in a five-hit 2-1 G-MAC win over visiting Ursuline.....registered a .287 batting average (27-for-94) with seven doubles, a home run and 13 RBI’s.....posted a 2-for-5 effort at the plate with a double, first collegiate home run and five RBI’s in a 13-11 victory over Wayne State NE during the annual Spring Break trip to Florida.....ended the 2016 campaign on a team-best eight-game hitting streak.....ranked third in the G-MAC in innings pitched and shutouts, fourth in wins, appearances and shutouts.....rated fifth in strikeouts complete games.....finished sixth in the G-MAC in games started.....ranks eighth all-time at Cedarville with four shutouts.....G-MAC First Team.....G-MAC Freshmen Team.
High School - Four-year letter winner as a pitcher at Covington High School.....two-time All-Ohio First Team selection.....two-time Cross County Conference Player of the Year.....two-time all-conference selection.....member of two conference championship squads.....led team to a pair of state final four appearances.....as a senior, posted a 20-2 overall record with 157 strikeouts in 126 innings of action including a perfect 12-0 mark in conference games.....posted a .472 batting average with 14 doubles, three HR’s and 35 RBI’s during senior campaign.....also earned two letters in volleyball as a freshman and sophomore.....National Honor Society student.
Personal - Dean’s List student as an early childhood education major at Cedarville University.....born 2/11/97 in Columbus, OH.....daughter of Jeff and Shellie Arbogast.....father played basketball at Capital University.....older sister, Shannon, is a 2015 graduate of Cedarville University.
