Biography
Neola Putnam is a fourth-year distance runner for the Lady Jackets.....appeared in five varsity meets as a junior and finished among the team’s top seven each time.....season-best time was 19:24 to place 11th in the Friendship Invitational.....timed in 19:44 in the All-Ohio Championship.....NCCAA champion on the track in the indoor mile in 5:13.19.....NCCAA Scholar-Athlete in both cross country and track & field.
2010 - Assembled a solid sophomore campaign.....appeared in seven varsity meets and finished among CU’s top three six times.....All-American Mideast Conference Second Team performer placing 10th and matching her career-best in the 5K at 18:35.....also ran 18:35 a week prior at Walsh to finish 7th.....crossed the line 67th out of 277 runners in the All-Ohio Championship in 18:59.....NCCAA Outdoor All-American on the track in the 1,500 meters.....qualified for the NAIA Indoor Championship in the distance medley.....NCCAA Indoor Scholar-Athlete.
2009 - Enjoyed an outstanding rookie year.....key member of squad that placed 6th in the NAIA and repeated as NCCAA champions.....competed in all eight varsity meets as a freshman and was among CU’s top five finishers each time out.....NCCAA All-American placing 15th out of 134 runners in 19:18 for the 5K.....turned in a season-best time of 19:17 at Aquinas to finish 21st of 225.....AMC honorable mention in 19:56.....Jackets’ #4 finisher at NAIA Nationals in 20:03.....notable season on the track in the distance events.....NCCAA Outdoor All-American in the 4 x 800 meter relay.....NAIA qualifier in the indoor distance medley relay and the outdoor 1,500.
High School - Produced an outstanding distance running career at Glenwood High School.....2008 Washington State Class B cross country champion as a senior in a time of 19:18 for the 5K....placed 3rd in the state as a sophomore (19:55) and 5th as a junior (20:17).....four-year letter winner on the track.....three-time state champion in the 800 meters and two-time 1,600 meter winner.....posted a personal-best of 2:18 in the 800; 5:15 in the 1,600; and 11:57 in the 3,200.....guided team to three consecutive state track & field crowns.
Personal - Dean List student as a mechanical engineering major at Cedarville University.....born 6/29/91 in White Salmon, WA.....daughter of Nathan and Betsy Putnam.....both parents were cross country skiers at the University of Maine at Orono.....has an older sister, an older brother, a younger sister, and a younger brother.
