Biography
Nicole (Watterud) Perez is back for her fourth season with the Lady Jackets.....serves as a team captain.....ran in the first five meets during her junior campaign.....fastest 5K of the season was 20:15 at the Evansville Invitational.....best 6K was 24:26 twice - at the Queen City Invitational and the All-Ohio Championship.....G-MAC Outdoor Second Team on the track as the runner-up in the 3,000 meter steeplechase.....NCCAA Scholar-Athlete.....G-MAC Academic Team.
2014 - Competed in six of seven meets as a sophomore and finished in the team’s top seven each time.....All-G-MAC Second Team performer by placing 10th in 23:22 for the 6K.....87th of 221 competitors in the NCAA Division II Midwest Regional with a personal-best mark of 23:14.....Cedarville Open runner-up in the career-best 5K time of 19:20.....distance runner during the track & field season.....steeplechase champion during the outdoor circuit.....All-G-MAC First Team.....G-MAC Academic Team.
2013 - Ran in five varsity meets during her rookie season.....best 6K time of the season was 25:01 at Gettysburg to place 62nd of 276.....timed in 25:12 at the Friendship and 25:17 in the G-MAC.....distance runner on the track squad.....conference runner-up outdoors in the steeplechase.....All-G-MAC Second Team honoree.
High School - Four-year letter winner in cross country at Cicero-North Syracuse High School.....two-time all-league first team.....three-time Team MVP.....twice named an all-league track & field performer.....member of two league and sectional title squads.....All-American at New Balance Outdoor Nationals in the 4 x mile relay.....graduated with academic honors.
Personal - Dean’s List student as a computer science major at Cedarville University.....born 10/12/95 in Syracuse, NY.....daughter of Scott and Nancy Watterud.....married on Aug. 1, 2015 to husband, Joshua, who is a distance runner with the CU men.....has one younger brother.
