Former Lady Jacket standout Bethany Murphy returned to the program as an assistant coach beginning with the 2024-25 academic year.
She was a three-year starter on the back line for Cedarville during the 2019 through 2021 seasons.
Bethany (Alecusan) Murphy logged a total of 54 career matches and started the last 52 contests in a row.
She was twice selected to the All-G-MAC Third Team, was a three-time G-MAC Academic Team honoree, and was named a NCCAA Scholar-Athlete.
The Lady Jackets posted an impressive 36-15-4 overall record during Murphy’s playing career and were 27-6-3 in the G-MAC. She helped anchor a defense that racked up 28 shutouts with a 0.69 goals against average.
Murphy was a member of the 2019 NCCAA Championship squad, CU’s first-ever women’s soccer team to qualify for the NCAA Division II Championship in 2021, and two G-MAC Tournament runner-up clubs.
Bethany graduated from the University in 2022 with a nursing degree as a Dean’s List student. She and her husband, Mac, reside in Hilliard, Ohio.
