Dr. Pam Johnson

Dr. Pamela Diehl Johnson, who has been at the University since 1974, is the associate head coach of Lady Jacket tennis. She is currently the Dean of Undergraduate Studies and Senior Professor of Kinesiology and Allied Health.

Johnson was recognized as one of the foremost authorities in NAIA women's tennis during her 30-year career as head coach of the Lady Jackets which ended in 2006.

She was a member of the NAIA National Tournament Committee 1985-2006, held the position of NAIA National Tournament Director from 1989-2006, and served as the National Christian College Athletic Association tennis chair.

Johnson was honored for her longtime contributions to women's tennis by being inducted into the NAIA Hall of Fame in 2004 and the NCCAA Hall of Fame in 2008. She was inducted into the Cedarville University Athletic Hall of Fame in 1996.

Johnson guided the Cedarville women's tennis program to 280 victories during her head coaching career. Her teams won four NAIA Region IX championships, seven NAIA District 22 championships, four American Mideast Conference titles, two Mid-Ohio Conference titles, and two Western Buckeye Collegiate Conference crowns. She took 12 teams to the NAIA National Tournament and coached 29 NAIA Scholar-Athletes.

Johnson co-authored the book, Physical Fitness and the Christian. She is a 1970 graduate of the University of Dayton and she earned her master's degree (1971) and Ph.D. (1974) from The Ohio State University. Pam and her husband, Cliff, reside in Cedarville.
