Biography
Brittany Simpson is a four-year member of the Lady Jacket track team.....ran in all eight cross country meets with CU’s nationally-ranked squad.....solid and consistent runner.....finished as Cedarville’s #4 runner in four meets, as #3 in two meets and at #5 in two meets.....best performance of the season came at the NAIA Championship - a 24th-place finish with a time of 18:04 to earn NAIA All-America status.....put together a 6th-place finish at the NCCAA Championship with an 18:37 effort for All-America honors......placed 7th at the AMC Championship (19:20) and was named to the All-AMC First Team.....NAIA and NCCAA Scholar-Athlete.
2007-08 - Ran in just three indoor meets in 2008.....finished 5th in the 1,500 meters (5:21.20) at the Cedarville Indoor Open and placed 3rd in the mile run (5:21.96) at the Findlay Indoor Open.....part of the 4 x 800 meter relay squad that finished 2nd (10:11.12) at the NCCAA Indoor Championship to earn All-America honors.....contributed 52 outdoor individual points.....earned NAIA All-America recognition for a 5th-place finish in the 5,000 meters (18:08.24).....won the 1,500 meter run at the Cedarville Challenge with a season-best 4:40.44 performance.....posted runner-up finishes in the 1,500 meters at both the AMC Championship and the Yellow Jacket Open.....finished 2nd in the 10,000 meters at both the AMC Championship and the NCCAA Championship.....member of the 4 x 800 meter relay quartet that placed first at the AMC Championship with a time of 9:33.80 to earn All-AMC First Team honors.....AMC Second Team in both the 1,500 and 5,000 meters.....NCCAA All-American (1,500 and 5,000).....NAIA and NCCAA Scholar-Athlete.....competed in all eight cross country meets for the nationally-ranked CU women’s team.....produced a season-best 18:12 at the AMC/NAIA Region IX meet to place 4th and earn All-AMC First Team honors.....ran to a 32nd-place spot at the NAIA Nationals with an 18:27 effort as the Lady Jackets finished runner-up for the second consecutive year.....one of six CU NCCAA All-Americans with a 6th-place finish in 18:31 as the Lady Jackets won their second-straight banner.
2006-07 - Best effort of the season was a 2nd-place finish in the 1,500 meters (5:04) at the Wittenberg Invitational.....placed 3rd in the mile run at the Findlay Indoor Open with a 5:33.92 performance.....earned a 6th-place finish in the 10K at the AMC Championships with a time of 39:08.28.....part of the NAIA national runner-up cross country team.....participated in all eight meets.....produced a season-best 19:03 effort to finish 12th of 131 runners at the NAIA Region IX meet.....placed 15th of 141 runners at the Cedarville Invitational with a 19:53 outing.
2005-06 - Totaled 10 indoor individual points and 27 outdoor points during the 2006 campaign.....registered a season-best 10:52.11 performance in the 3,000 meters to place 8th at the NCCAA Indoor Championship.....a 5:26.88 outing in the mile run at the Cedarville Indoor Invitational produced an 8th-place position.....a season-best effort of 18:13.38 at the NCCAA Outdoor Championship earned a 3rd-place finish in the 5,000 meters..... earned NCCAA Outdoor All-America honors.....ran in all eight meets with the CU women’s cross country squad.....posted a season-best 19:00 effort at the NCCAA Championship which placed 18th of 142 runners..... registered a 19:11 performance at the NAIA National Championship for a 79th-place finish of 259 runners.....part of a squad that finished 4th at the NAIA Nationals and 2nd at the NCCAA Championships.
High School - Three-year letter winner in cross country at Kennebunk High School.....placed 4th in the Class A state meet as a senior.....runner-up in the Western Maine Class A meet and achieved the SMAA Academic Excellence Award.....named team’s Most Valuable Runner and was an SMAA All-Star.....recognized as school’s 2004-05 Female Athlete of the Year.....SMAA 1,600 meter champion as a junior.....also participated in basketball and softball.....National Honor Society student.
Personal - Dean’s List student as an early childhood education major at Cedarville University.....born 7/9/86 in Portland, ME.....daughter of Bill and Bev Simpson.....has one older sister and a younger brother.
