Three-time NCCAA champion Neil Henning has been part of the Yellow Jacket coaching staff since 2009 with an emphasis on the throwing events.

Henning, a native of nearby Enon, Ohio, competed for the Jackets from 2005 through 2008. He was a two-time NCCAA indoor champion in the weight throw, won the shot put title once, and was a three-time All-American in each event.

A 2008 Cedarville University graduate with a degree in graphic design, Henning holds the school record in the weight throw at 54-feet 3-inches.

Outdoors, Henning especially made his mark in the hammer. He was the 2008 American Mideast Conference Outstanding Field Performer of the Meet after setting school and AMC records with a heave of 174-1. Henning was an NCCAA Outdoor All-American twice in the hammer and once in the shot.

Neil and his wife, Jessica (Sipe), who is a former Lady Jacket thrower, reside in Springfield.
