Former CU All-American Sam LeMaster joins the Yellow Jacket coaching staff to work with the throwers.

LeMaster, who is a native of nearby Jamestown, Ohio, was a four-year thrower for the Jackets from 2010 through 2013. He earned NCCAA Outdoor All-America honors in the shot put as a freshman and was the American Mideast Conference runner-up.

LeMaster produced an outstanding sophomore campaign in the shot. He was the NCCAA Indoor runner-up, placed 3rd in the NCCAA Outdoor, and was the AMC runner-up. He finished his season by qualifying for the NAIA Outdoor Championship where he placed 9th.

LeMaster was the 2012 Ohio Independent Championship shot put winner. His career-best heave in the event was 53-feet 10.25-inches.

A 2013 graduate of Cedarville University, LeMaster earned a degree in criminal justice. Sam and his wife, Lauren, were married on Dec. 14, 2013 and reside in Mason, Ohio.
