Cedarville University Yellow Jackets

Former NAIA All-American Shawn Graves is in his first season as a member of the Yellow Jacket track & field coaching staff specializing in the hammer and weight throws.

Graves competed at Cedarville from 1996 through 2000. He was an NAIA Indoor All-American in the weight throw as a senior by placing 5th in the country. Later that year he became the NCCAA hammer throw champion.

Graves owns the second-best weight throw in school history with an effort of 53-feet 3.75-inches. His name appears on four of the top ten marks in the event at CU.

Graves is an assistant professor of philosophy at the University. Shawn and his wife, Marlena, who is a resident director on campus, have one daughter.
