Cedarville University Yellow Jackets

Emily DeRusha is in her third season with the Lady Jacket track & field team....two-year performer for the CU women’s cross country team but did not participate in varsity cross country this past fall.....brings experience in the distance events to the Lady Jackets.

2008-09 - Saw action in four outdoor meets in the 1,500 meter event.....best effort of the spring came in the Southern Ohio Cup with a 5:24.69 performance.....ran in five cross country meets in the fall of 2008.....registered a season-best 21:14 performance at the Aquinas Invitational..... placed 16th overall in the season-opening Shawnee State Invitational with a 21:16 outing.

2007-08 - Posted 11 individual points during the indoor campaign including a third-place finish in the 5,000 meter run at the Cedarville Indoor Invitational (20:44.87).....placed seventh in the 10K at the American Mideast Conference Championship (45:56.62).....named an NCCAA Indoor All-America Scholar Athlete (4x800).....ran in four cross country meets.....produced a season best 20:23 effort in the season-opening Shawnee State Invitational for an 11th-place finish.....ran a 20:54 at the NAIA Region IX meet to place 54th out of 114 runners.

High School - Earned four letters in track at Milford High School.....part of four-time Kensington Valley Conference and region championship team.....track squad had a 49-0 dual meet record in her career.....two-time all-conference performer in the 4 x 800 meter relay.....four-year letter winner in cross country.....member of four KVC championship teams and two regional title squads.....two-time All-KVC Second Team choice....cross country squad recorded a 27-1 dual meet record from 2003-06.....also four year letter winner in volleyball.

Personal - Early childhood education major at Cedarville University.....born 9/8/89 in Ypsilanti, MI.....daughter of Kent and Cathy DeRusha....older brother, Dan, was a distance runner at the United States Air Force Academy.....older sister, Shannon, ran cross country for the Lady Jackets in 2007.
