Biography

Joy Santos is in her final season as one of the top sprinters with the CU women’s track & field squad.....recorded a third-best 83 individual points during the 2012 indoor/outdoor schedule.....top indoor effort in the 55 meters of 7.42 earned a sixth-place finish at the National Christian College Athletic Association (NCCAA) Indoor Championship.....placed third in the 200 meters at the NCCAA Indoor Championship with a time of 26.24.....member of the victorious 4 x 400 meter relay squad at the NCCAA Indoor Championship that was clocked at 3:58.62.....earned NCCAA Indoor All-American honors in the 200 meters and the 4 x 400 meter relay.....joined with Alexa Winik, Katie Lanphier and Christina Gall to set a new school record with a 1:46.63 second-place performance in the 4 x 200 meter relay at the Cedarville Collegiate Invitational.....same quartet also captured the 4 x 400 relay in a meet record time of 4:01.21.....part of the 4 x 100 meter squad set new school standard with a 48.07 runner-up performance at the Ohio Independent Championship.....NCCAA Outdoor All-American in the 200 meters, 400 meters and 4 x 400 meter relay.

2011 - Produced 16.5 individual points during the indoor campaign.....finished seventh in the 400 meters at the NCCAA Indoor Championship with a season-best 1:01.17 performance.....placed fifth in the 400 meters at both the Findlay Division II Challenge (1:02.39) and the Cedarville Collegiate Indoor Invitational (1:02.66).....part of 4 x 200 meter relay squad that placed second with a time of 1:48.48 at the Cedarville Collegiate Indoor Invitational.....recorded a successful outdoor season with 43 individual points.....top effort of 25.51 in the 200 meters came at the American Mideast Conference Championship.....placed second in the AMC 400 meters with a time of 1:00.95.....recorded a season-best 57.91 effort in the 400 meters at the Louisville Twilight.....earned NCCAA Outdoor All-America recognition with runner-up finishes in both the 4 x 100 and 4 x 400 meter relay events.....named to the All-AMC Second Team in the 200 and 400 meters.

2010 - Contributed 25 individual points during the indoor season.....won the 200 meter finals at the Marietta Open with a time of 27.29.....placed second in the 400 meters at the Cedarville Invitational with a 1:02.33 performance.....posted a season-best 7.61 outing in the 55 meters finals at the Cedarville Invitational for a third-place finish.....was not able to participate in the spring outdoor campaign due to a knee injury.

High School - Produced an impressive prep sports career.....graduated from Berks Christian School.....earned two letters in track.....member of the 2008-09 CCAC State Championship squad.....district III state qualifier in 100, 200 and 400 meters.....also earned letters in basketball and volleyball.....letter winner in basketball and volleyball at Valley Forge Baptist Academy.....garnered one letter in track and field at Exeter High School.

Personal - Exercise science major at Cedarville University.....born 11/16/90 in Queens, NY.....daughter of Victor and Ann Santos.....has three older sisters, an older brother and a younger brother; older sister, Grace, was a member of the 2010 CU track & field team.
