Biography
CAREER STATSKristen Laaman is back for her fourth season with the Lady Jackets.....participated in three cross country meets this past fall.....CU’s #2 runner while placing fourth overall at the Great Midwest Athletic Conference (G-MAC) Championship in Houghton, New York with a 6K time of 24:04.....recorded a 23:42 outing at the All-Ohio Championship at Cedarville’s 6K Elvin R. King Cross Country Course.....placed 33rd of 108 runners at the 5K Evansville Invitational with a 19:37 performance.....G-MAC First Team.....National Christian College Athletic Association (NCCAA) Scholar-Athlete.
2014-15 - Produced an outstanding distance season on the track.....NCCAA Indoor All-American as the 3,000 meter runner-up.....All-Ohio outdoor 5,000 meter champion.....All-G-MAC Second Team both indoors (3K) and outdoors (5K).....CoSIDA Academic All-District Team.....NCCAA Scholar-Athlete.....G-MAC Academic Team.....served as a cross country team captain.....ran in six meets as a junior and placed among the team’s top seven finishers five times.....G-MAC First Team performer for the third consecutive year placing 9th in 23:21 for the 6K.....posted career-low 23:03 at the NCAA Division II Midwest Regional to finish 77th of 211.....ended up 40th of 413 at Wilmington in a 5K PR of 19:38.
2013 - Recovered from early season injuries to run in the final four meets of her sophomore season.....G-MAC First Team performer for the second straight time placing 10th in 24:09 for the 6K.....best time was 24:00 in the Division II Midwest Regional.....finished 49th of 227 at the NCCAA Championship in a season-best 5K mark of 19:40.....NCCAA Scholar-Athlete.....G-MAC Academic Team.
2012 - Ran in only two varsity meets as a freshman.....placed 8th overall in 20:27 in the G-MAC Championship to garner first team honors.....other appearance was at Wisconsin-Parkside where she finished 82nd of 189 runners in 19:59.....G-MAC Academic Team.
High School - Homeschool graduate.....picked up four letters in indoor track & field and three more during the outdoor season.....placed 4th in the state indoor 1,000 meters as a junior....four-year letter winner in cross country at Oyster River High School.....recognized as the team Most Valuable Runner as a senior.....team captain.....placed 19th in the New Hampshire State Meet of Champions her final season.....team finished in the top six in the state in three of her four years.....National Merit Finalist.
Personal - Dean’s Honor List student as a molecular and cellular biology major at Cedarville University.....born 11/29/93 in Trenton, NJ.....daughter of Thomas and Lorelei Laaman.....has one older brother and an older sister.
