Cedarville University Yellow Jackets

Melanie Redfield is in her final campaign as a distance runner with the CU Lady Jacket track & field team.....ran each of the seven cross country meets this past fall for the Cedarville women’s cross country team.....placed in the top seven CU runners in six of the seven meets.....best finish of the campaign was fourth at the 5K Cedarville Open producing a time of 19:31 at the Elvin R. King Cross Country Course.....finished 11th overall at the Great Midwest Athletic Conference (G-MAC) Championship with a time of 23:28 on the 6K course in Owensboro, Kentucky......Cedarville’s #5 runner in the first two meets of the fall - University of Southern Indiana Invitational (15:03/4K) and the Annual Friendship Invitational (19:41/5K) on the home course.

2013-14 - Took part in three indoor meets with a season-best sixth-place finish in the 3,000 meters at the Cedarville Collegiate Indoor Invitational on a 11:10.16 performance.....registered 16 individual points during the outdoor schedule......Cedarville’s only individual winner on the track at the Great Midwest Athletic Conference (G-MAC) Championships with an 11:55.66 effort in the 3,000 meter steeplechase to earn G-MAC First Team recognition.....season-best time of 11:39.09 in the 3,000 meter steeplechase produced a seventh-place spot at the Miami University Invitational.....placed fifth in the steeplechase event at the All-Ohio Championships with an 11:48.21 performance.....participated in all seven cross country events.....Cedarville’s #2 finisher at the season-opening Queen City Invitational with a time of 20:13 (67th of 148) over the 5K course.....a 20:00 effort produced a 65th-place of 227 runners at the National Christian College Athletic Association (NCCAA) Championship at CU’s Elvin R. King Cross Country Course 5K layout.....earned Great Midwest Athletic Conference Second Team honors with a 24:32 finish at the 6K layout of the home course......placed 45th overall at the annual Friendship Invitational with a 6K 25:28 performance.

2012-13 - Participated in two indoor meets and three outdoor events in the 2013 campaign.....finished 18th with a 19:55.55 effort in the 5,000 meters at the National Christian College Athletic Association (NCCAA) Indoor Championship.....placed second in the 3,000 meter steeplechase at the Cedarville Collegiate All-Comers meet with a time of 12:42.40.....NCCAA Scholar-Athlete.....ran in four of the seven cross country meets.....recorded a career-best time of 20:18 at the Wisconsin-Parkside Invitational.....ran a 20:39 at the Friendship Invitational to finish 44th of 126 participants.....placed 14th overall with a time of 21:17 as Cedarville won the first-ever Great Midwest Athletic Conference title.....earned G-MAC Second Team recognition.....registered a time of 22:12 in the season-opening University of Dayton Challenge.

2011-12 - Produced an indoor season-best time of 20:29.99 in the 5,000 meters at the Youngstown State University Invitational.....placed 19th in the 5,000 meters at the National Christian College Athletic Assocation Indoor Championship as CU captured the overall team banner.....ran the 3,000 meter steeplechase in three outdoor meets.....best effort of 12:15.64 came at the NCCAA National Championship.....finished in fifth position in the 3,000 meter steeplechase (12:40.00) as Cedarville won the Ohio Independent Championship.....participated in four of the six Cedarville cross country meets.....best time of the campaign was a 21:14 effort at the Friendship Invitational.....produced a 21:58 outing at the Ohio Independent Championship.

High School - Achieved four letters each in indoor and outdoor track & field.....helped lead team to 2011 Section V indoor title.....was a two-year letter winner in cross country at Penfield High School.....member of 2010 Section V championship team.....earned All-Greater Rochester Area Athlete honorable mention.....National Honor Society student.

Personal - Nursing major at Cedarville University.....born 3/2/93 in Rochester, NY.....daughter of Jack and Mary Redfield.....older brother, Gregory, is a distance runner at Johnson & Wales University in Rhode Island.....has another older brother.
