Biography
Nicole Santos returns to the Lady Jacket track team for her final season as a distance runner.....completed a successful third cross country campaign with the NAIA national runner-up CU squad.....finished 30th at the NAIA National Championship with a 18:08 effort to earn All-America recognition.....individual champion at the NCCAA Championship with a time of 18:25 for the 5,000 meters as Cedarville won their third straight title..... captured the AMC individual championship with an 18:59 effort.....produced a career-best 17:41 for a 3rd-place finish at the Aquinas Invitational.....NAIA and NCCAA Scholar-Athlete.
2007-08 - NAIA Indoor All-American in the 5,000 meters with a 5th-place finish and a 17:47.34 effort.....NCCAA Indoor Champion in the 5,000 meters with an 18:00.49 All-America performance.....placed 2nd in the 3,000 meters (10:34.46) for NCCAA Indoor All-America recognition.....captured the 3,000 meter race at Ohio Northern with a time of 10:25.76.....contributed 39 indoor individual points.....ran in just six events during the 2008 outdoor season.....registered 30 individual points.....finished as runner-up in the 10K at both the AMC Championship and the NCCAA Championship.....earned All-AMC Second Team and NCCAA All-America honors....NAIA and NCCAA Scholar-Athlete..... posted an outstanding second season with the CU women’s cross country program.....earned NAIA All-America status for a second consecutive year with a 12th-place finish in 18:08 for the 5,000 meters.....was individual runner-up at the NCCAA Nationals with a time of 18:14 to lead CU to its second straight NCCAA championship..... finished first at the AMC/NAIA Region IX meet with a career-best 17:55 as Cedarville captured a third straight title.
2006-07 - Totaled 63 individual points in the indoor/outdoor track seasons.....named an NAIA Indoor All-American for her 5th-place finish in the 5,000 meters (17:59.53)..... placed 3rd in the 5K (17:52.10) at the NCCAA Indoor Nationals for All-America status.....garnered NAIA Outdoor All-America honors for her 4th-place finish in the 10K (36:44.40) and a 5th-place spot in the 5K (17:49.18) to help the Lady Jackets to a national runner-up banner.....captured the 5,000 meter title at the Wittenberg Invitational with a time of 17:58.20.....added a first-place finish in the 10,000 meters at the Yellow Jacket Outdoor Open with a 37:15.82 performance.....posted a 36:40.29 effort in the 10K at the NCCAA Outdoor Championship to finish 2nd and earn All-America honors.....placed 2nd in the 5K (18:01.99) and 10K (37:27.32) at the AMC Championship to earn All-AMC Second Team.....completed a successful rookie campaign with the CU women’s cross country squad.....ran in all eight meets.....registered a season-best 18:35 to place 21st of 268 runners at the NAIA Nationals to earn All-America accolades.....placed 8th of 131 runners at the NAIA Region IX meet touring the 5,000 meters in 18:37.....helped CU capture the NCCAA National Championship with a 10th-place finish (19:25) that earned All-America honors.
2005-06 - Scored 10 indoor individual points and 16 outdoor points.....season-best effort of 10:45 produced an 8th-place finish in the 3,000 meters at the NCCAA Indoor Championship.....recorded a season-best 5:31.08 performance in the mile run to place 14th at the Cedarville Indoor Invitational.....earned 5th-place positions in the 10,000 meters at both the NCCAA Outdoor Championship (39:33.83) and the AMC Championships (41:25.93)..... placed 3rd in the 5,000 meters at the Yellow Jacket Collegiate Open with a time of 19:25.91.
High School - Homeschool graduate.....completed a two-sport high school career.....two-year letter winner in track & field at Piscataguis Community High School.....placed 6th in the mile run and 8th in the 800 meters at the state of Maine championships her junior season.....finished 5th in the mile and 7th in the 800 meters at state meet during senior campaign.....also a one-year letter winner in field hockey.....earned the Coach’s Award both junior and senior seasons....National Honor Society student.
Personal - Dean’s List student as a nursing major at Cedarville University.....born 8/29/87 in Dover-Foxcroft, ME.....daughter of Frank and Tracy Santos.....has one younger brother.
