Cedarville University Yellow Jackets

Rachel (Meister) Herrera is a four-year member as a long/triple jumper with the Lady Jacket track & field squad.....totaled 23 individual points during the 2012 season.....best long jump of the indoor season was a 16-01.50 effort to place seventh at the Indiana Wesleyan Classic.....placed eighth in the long jump at the Cedarville Collegiate Indoor Invitational with a leap of 15-08.75.....indoor-best 33-04.50 triple jump performance placed tenth at the National Christian College Athletic Association (NCCAA) Indoor Championship.....participated in the 200 meter events at the IWU Classic and the CC Indoor Invitational.....placed fifth in the long jump at the Ohio Independent Championship (OIC) with an outdoor best 15-10.25.....produced at 31-10.75 triple jump effort to finish seventh at the OIC.....NCCAA Indoor and Outdoor Scholar-Athlete.

2011 - Contributed 22 points during the indoor campaign.....member of 4 x 200 meter relay squad that recorded a season-best 1:48.48 effort at the Cedarville Collegiate Indoor Invitational.....4 x 400 meter relay quartet produced a season-best 4:10.92 outing at the NCCAA Indoor Championship.....placed second in the 400 meters (1:04.62) and third in the long jump (15-05.50) at the Otterbein Invitational.....recorded 25 individual outdoor points last spring.....best effort (1:08.38) in the 400 meter hurdles came in the prelims of the NCCAA Outdoor Championship.....placed second in the event at the Yellow Jacket Collegiate Open with a 1:08.97 performance......finished in third place in the triple jump at the American Mideast Conference Championship (34-00.25) and the University of Cincinnati Early Bird (33-06.75).

2010 - Added 22 individual points to the indoor season.....placed second in the triple jump at the Cedarville Challenge with a 33-3.25 performance.....season-best effort in the event was a mark of 34-5 at the NCCAA Championship.....produced her top outing in the long jump of 15-9.75 at the Indiana Wesleyan Invitational......participated in just two outdoor meets.....placed fifth in the long jump at the Yellow Jacket Open with a 16-4.75 mark.....finished ninth in both the long jump (15-7.75) and the triple jump (31-3.75) at the American Mideast Conference Championship.

High School - Produced a three-sport high school career.....participated in one season of volleyball and track at Prairie Central High School.....graduated from LaSalle-Peru High School.....three-year track & field participant.....ran two seasons of cross country and played one volleyball campaign.

Personal - Dean’s List student as an allied health major at Cedarville University.....born 1/7/91 in Bloomington, IL.....married former Yellow Jacket track & field member Mike Herrera on June 5, 2010.....daughter of Mike and Margaret Meister.....has an older brother.
