Biography

Rachel Wong is in her final season of distance running with the Lady Jackets.....ran in five of the six Cedarville University cross country meets last fall.....posted a season-best effort of 19:12 at the All-Ohio Championship on CU’s Elvin R. King Cross Country Course finishing 64th of 317 participants......produced a third-place finish at the Ohio Independent Championship with a time of 19:38.....posted a 24:44 performance at the 6K Gettsyburg Invitational placing 14th of 361 runners.....NCCAA Scholar-Athlete.

2010-11 - Participated in four indoor meets.....totaled 30 individual indoor points.....won the 800 meters at the Findlay Division II Challenge with a season-best 2:19.96.....runner-up in the 1,000 meters at the Cedarville Collegiate Indoor Invitational.....placed second in the mile run at the NCCAA Indoor Championship to grab All-America honors.....posted 43 individual outdoor points.....garnered the 1,500 meter title (4:37.56) at the NCCAA Outdoor Championship to earn All-America recognition.....won the 1,500 meter event at the American Mideast Conference Championship to earn All-AMC First Team honors.....took first in the 1,500 meters at both the Miami RedHawk Invitational (4:45.51) and the Yellow Jacket Collegiate Invitational (4:46.25).....NAIA, NCCAA Indoor, NCCAA Outdoor, AMC Scholar-Athlete.....ran in seven of the eight meets for the NAIA nationally-ranked cross country squad.....top Lady Jacket finisher in six of the seven outings.....career-best performance of 17:58 occurred at the American Mideast Conference Championship and produced a fourth-place spot out of 120 runners.....earned All-AMC First Team honors.....won the Walsh-Malone Invitational with a time of 18:10 to place first of 91 runners.

2009-10 - Participated in just two indoor meets.....NCCAA Indoor Scholar-Athlete..... NCCAA Outdoor All-American on the track in the 4 x 800 meter relay.....NAIA outdoor qualifier in the 4 x 800.....season-best effort in the 800 meters was a 2:23.13 performance at the Miami RedHawk Invitational.....ran in seven of eight varsity cross country meets and finished among the Lady Jackets’ top six each time out.....helped team to finish 6th at the NAIA and win the NCCAA banner for the fourth straight time.....repeated as an NCCAA All-American placing 10th as the squad’s #3 runner in a season-best time of 19:02.....AMC honorable mention with a 17th-place effort in 19:40.....ended up 27th of 225 competitors at Aquinas in 19:27.....CU’s #5 runner at the NAIA placing 125th of 330 in 20:04.

2008-09 - NAIA Indoor All-American on the track as the runner-up in the 1,000 meters in 2:55.97 to break a 22-year old school record.....NCCAA Indoor All-American in the mile and 800 meters.....part of AMC champion 4 x 800 relay squad that set school and meet records in 9:11.46.....placed among the team’s top five finishers in all eight varsity cross country meets as a freshman.....NCCAA All-American by finishing 4th overall in 18:35 for the 5K as team’s #2 runner.....produced a career-best time of 18:19 at the NAIA Championship to end up 38th of 327 competitors.....All-AMC Second Team performer.

High School - Experienced a record-setting prep career.....homeschool graduate who was a four-year letter winner in cross country and track at Northern York High School.....placed 16th in the state cross country meet as a senior after finishing 10th as a junior.....guided team to 2007 district title and squad was the PIAA Championship runner-up.....set cross country school record in the 5K at 18:18.....holds school marks on the track in the 800 meters (2:12.8); 1,600 (5:00), and 4 x 800 (9:19).....excelled in the state meet in the 800 placing 3rd in 2006 sandwiched in between 4th-place showings in 2005 and 2007.....finished 3rd in the 4 x 800 as a freshman.....placed 8th in the 1,600 as a senior.....National Merit Commended Scholar.

Personal - Nursing major at Cedarville University.....born 2/19/91 in West Point, NY.....daughter of Leonard and Elizabeth Wong.....older brother, Andrew, is a 2007 CU graduate.....older sister, Lydia, is a 2010 graduate of the University and was a four-year NAIA All-America distance runner for the Lady Jackets.....younger sister, Abigail, is a junior distance runner at CU.....also has two younger brothers.
