Cedarville University Yellow Jackets

Sarah Hannay begins her fourth season as a thrower with the Lady Jacket track & field squad.....best shot put effort during 2010 indoor campaign was a toss of 36-00.5 at the Indiana Wesleyan Invitational - the eighth-best effort in CU women’s history.....placed eighth in the weight throw at the NCCAA Indoor Championship with a 43-10.75 effort.....recorded 18 individual points in the outdoor season.....finished third in the hammer throw at the AMC Championship with a career-best 133-11 performance...... season-best 93-4 javelin toss produced a sixth-place spot at the Yellow Jacket Open..... earned NAIA, NCCAA Outdoor and AMC Scholar-Athlete recognition for the second consecutive season.

2009 - Produced a season-best toss of 37-feet 8.5-inches to place sixth at the NCCAA Indoor Championship.....placed second in the weight throw at the Cedarville Collegiate Indoor Invitational with a 40-0 effort.....totaled 19 points during the indoor campaign..... set a new school outdoor record with a 39-5 heave in the shot put to win the event at the Yellow Jacket Collegiate Open.....earned runner-up honors in the hammer throw at the Yellow Jacket Collegiate Outdoor Open with a season-best 122-9 performance..... her 97-7 effort in the javelin produced a third place spot at the Yellow Jacket Open.....named an NAIA, NCCAA Outdoor and AMC Scholar-Athlete.

2008 - Saw action during the indoor campaign in the shot put and weight throw.....finished fourth in the weight throw at the Cedarville Indoor Invitational with a 38-10.25 effort while placing fifth in the shot put with a toss of 33-6.75.....competed in the shot put, hammer and javelin during the spring outdoor season.....best effort of the year was a fourth-place spot in the hammer throw at the Emory Invitational (111-7).....registered 13 team points during the season.

High School - Recorded a two-sport career at Berne-Knox-Westerlo High School.....four-year letter winner in track.....member of four-time league championship team.....named Team MVP in senior season.....holds school records in discus (103-5) and shot put (36-1).....four-year letter winner in soccer as a goalie.....earned Team MVP honors for senior season efforts.....National Honor Society student.....served as president of the NHS.....scholar-athlete.

Personal - Dean’s List student as a nursing major at Cedarville University....born 1/14/89 in Albany, NY.....daughter of Scott and Bev Hannay.....father is a former thrower for the Yellow Jackets and still holds the school record in the javelin.....younger brother, Greg, is a freshman member of the Yellow Jacket track & field squad as a thrower.
