CEDARVILLE, Ohio - Head coach Joe Poelzer is pleased to announce the signings of three more recruits to the 2013-14 Cedarville University golf program. Taylor Holt, John Sandlas and Spencer Summerlin have submitted National Letters of Intent to attend Cedarville University and play for the Yellow Jackets.

Taylor Holt is a recent graduate of Centerville High School in Centerville, Ohio. He played as a freshman at Andover Central High School in Wichita, Kansas.

As a senior, Holt helped lead his prep team to a second-place finish at the 2013 Ohio Division I State Tournament. He was fifth at the US Amateur Public Links Qualifier and seventh at the Ohio Optimist Regional Qualifier.

Holt was a Great Western Ohio Conference (GWOC) All-Division First Team selection in 2012 and was the recipient of Centerville High School's Black and Gold Award for outstanding sportsmanship and work ethic. He finished second at the GWOC Post Season Tournament in 2011 and was eighth in the OHSAA Division I Sectional Tournament.

Taylor is the son of Bill and Karen Holt of Centerville, Ohio.


John Sandlas is a homeschool graduate who is a three-time New York State Junior Amateur Qualifier Medalist. He was the 2010 State Amateur Champion with rounds of 74-73 at the Mendon Golf Club in Mendon, New York.

Sandlas represented the United States in Scotland as a member of the 2012 EuroCup Team.

He is a two-time representative of the Syracuse District Golf Association at the Williamson Cup and was a member of the Syracus District Golf Association Intra-District Teams in 2011 and 2012.

John is the son of Hank and Cheryl Sandlas of Seneca Falls, New York.





Spencer Summerlin is a recent graduate of O'Fallon Township High School in O'Fallon, Illinois. The two-year varsity letter winner was a team captain during his senior campaign.

Summerlin was selected to represent his prep golf team on O'Fallon High School's Leadership Council. He was also a member of O'Fallon's baseball team for three seasons.

Spencer is the son of Jeff and Kathy Summerlin of Shiloh, Illinois. His older brother, Sam, is a member of the Yellow Jacket baseball team.

Holt, Sandlas and Summerlin join previously signed Jordan Reese as new members of the CU golf team.
