Roberts 7th in Nike 2-mile
GREENSBORO, N.C. (6-17-2006) - Yellow Jacket distance running signee Daniel Roberts placed 7th in the boys 2-mile run at the Nike Outdoor Nationals on June 15-17. He posted a time of 8:58.10. [RESULTS]

Roberts signs with Cedarville
CEDARVILLE, Ohio (12-23-2005) - Daniel Roberts, a two-time qualifier for the Foot Locker National Cross Country Championship, has signed a letter of intent to attend Cedarville University and compete in the Yellow Jackets' track and cross country programs.
A native of Vicksburg, Michigan, Roberts ran cross country as a senior this past fall at Crested Butte Academy in Colorado. He placed 12th out of 40 runners at the Foot Locker Nationals on Dec. 10 in San Diego, Calif. with a time of 15:27 for the 5,000 meters. He qualfied with a 6th-place finish in the Midwest Regional. "Daniel is the fastest high school recruit we've ever signed," proclaimed CU men's cross country coach Paul Orchard. "He possesses big meet experience at the national level and will have an immediate impact upon our program. Needless to say, we're excited to have him joining the program."
Cedarville is no stranger to Roberts. His older sister, Sarah, was an NAIA All-America distance runner at the school during her cross country and track career from 2000 through 2004.
Roberts was the Michigan Division II state cross country champion as a junior at Vicksburg High School with a winning time of 15:23. On the track, he was the state 1,600 meter champion as a sophomore and junior along with winning the state 3,200 meter title his sophomore year. He holds the state record in the 1,600 of 4:09.45 set as a junior.
Roberts competed in the 2005 Nike Outdoor Track & Field Nationals. He earned All-America status after placing 5th in the 1,600 meters with a time of 4:11.8.

Yellow Jackets 14th at NAIA
LOUISVILLE, Ky. (11-19-2005) - Cedarville, who was rated 16th in the final national poll of the season, placed 14th of 28 schools at the NAIA National Championship. Virginia Intermont repeated as team champion with 52 points while Concordia CA was runner-up with 122. The Yellow Jackets totaled 376 points in the 28-team field.
Dan Campbell took 26:01 to cover the 8,000 meters and finished 82nd out of 261 competitors. The rest of CU's top five included Justin Gutierrez (103rd; 26:19), Justin Herbert (105th; 26:19), Bryan Pittman (111th; 26:24), and Kevin Hall (115th; 26:26). [COMPLETE RESULTS]
Campbell NCCAA All-American; CU 3rd
YELLOW SPRINGS, Ohio (11-12-2005) - Dan Campbell, running in only his second varsity race of the season, became an NCCAA All-American for the third consecutive time. The senior toured the 8,000 meters in 25:41 to finish 9th out of 154 competitors to lead Cedarville to a 3rd-place finish.
Bryan Pittman put together a career-best effort of 26:09 to place 17th. Other Yellow Jackets to score were Justin Gutierrez (20th; 26:21), Jordan Seibert (22nd; 26:32), and Kevin Hall (23rd; 26:39). Hall was also recognized as an NCCAA All-America Scholar-Athlete, who are juniors and seniors who maintain a minimum 3.40 cumulative grade point average.
A total of 23 schools participated with Malone coming out on top with 32 points, Indiana Wesleyan had 77, and CU recorded 91. [COMPLETE TEAM and INDIVIDUAL RESULTS; AWARDS]
