Austin Foote

Men's Basketball

The male SUBWAY Athlete of the Week (Jan. 29-Feb. 4) is basketball player Austin Foote. The 6-foot junior guard from Castle Rock, Colorado helped the Yellow Jackets to a pair of victories last week. Foote poured in 14 points - all in the second half - as CU posted an impressive 71-58 win over Grand Valley State on Tuesday, Jan. 31 in the Callan Athletic Center. He hit four three-pointers on the way to another 14 point performance during a 70-57 victory at Notre Dame College on Saturday afternoon, Feb. 4, in South Euclid, Ohio.

Women's Track & Field

The female SUBWAY Athlete of the Week (Jan. 29-Feb. 4) is track & field performer Alexa Winik. The 5-foot-6 senior sprinter from Windsor, Ontario led the Lady Jackets to a runner-up finish at the Cedarville Collegiate Invitational on Friday, Feb. 3 in CU's Doden Field House. Winik joined with Joy Santos, Katie Lanphier and Christina Gall to break the school record in the 4 x 200 meter relay with a 1:46.63 effort. The quartet came back later in the day to win the 4 x 400 meter relay in a meet record time of 4:01.21. Winik placed second in the 400 meter dash in 59.33 seconds. Wright State won the 15-team event with 161 points while the Lady Jackets tallied 159.
