CEDARVILLE, Ohio (12-4-2006) - Lady Jacket middle hitter Sarah Zeltman has been named to the NAIA All-America Second Team in women's volleyball for the 2006 season. The 6-foot-1 junior from Kidron, Ohio becomes Cedarville's first two-time NAIA All-American after having been recognized as a Third Team selection as a freshman in 2004.
Zeltman averaged team-highs of 4.50 kills, 1.13 blocks, and 0.45 service aces per game during CU's 45-10 season which featured a third straight trip to the NAIA Nationals. She was named the NAIA Region IX and American Mideast Conference South Division Player of the Year while also leading the Lady Jackets to a second consecutive NCCAA national championship. Zeltman, whose 2,192 career kills rates third on the school's all-time list, is one of four Cedarville players to ever be selected an NAIA All-American in women's volleyball. The first was Heather van der Aa, who was named to the Third Team in 2001 and still ranks second in kills at CU with 2,390. In 2005, all-time assist leader Kelsey Jones (6,662) was named to the Second Team and Julia Bradley, who completed her career this fall as the Jackets' all-time leader in kills (2,813) was chosen to the Third Team.
Melissa Parmerlee, a junior philosophy major from Grand Rapids, Mich., earned a spot on the NAIA Scholar-Athlete unit. The program recognizes juniors and seniors who maintain a minimum 3.50 cumulative grade point average. [NAIA VOLLEYBALL SCHOLAR-ATHLETES]

From California to Ohio; Julia Bradley's path to success
by Jim Sawin, sports information intern
CEDARVILLE, Ohio (11-14-2006) - When someone mentions California I picture elegant beaches, blinding sand, and tan bodies on the land or on a surfboard. Ultimate relaxation comes to mind when thinking about California, so what would inspire a talented young volleyball player to spend four years in Ohio when having the opportunity to stay in the Golden State?
Julia Bradley, a senior middle hitter from Valencia, CA, made the long trip to Ohio four years ago to play volleyball for Cedarville University. Bradley initially did not consider Cedarville as a top college choice, but politely told Head Coach Teresa Clark she would keep the school as an option. [FULL STORY]
