Price heads up Lady Jacket post-season honors

CEDARVILLE, Ohio (12-11-2006) - Senior midfielder Abby Price was named the Team MVP for the 2006 season to lead a long list of honors received. She was voted to the All-NAIA Region IX Team which led to her being recognized as NAIA All-America honorable mention. She was also chosen to the American Mideast Conference South Division First Team. [NAIA ALL-AMERICANS and ALL-AMC SOUTH DIVISION TEAM]

Price topped a list of five Lady Jacket players to earn NAIA Scholar-Athlete status which is reserved for juniors and seniors who maintain a minimum 3.50 cumulative grade point average. She was joined by Kristen Malpass, Kristin Merkel, Karen Ruhlman, and Jessica Thomas. The fivesome along with Jillian Losee were NCCAA All-America Scholar-Athletes (3.40 gpa). Malpass, Ruhlman, and Lisa Blackburn were All-AMC South Division Second Team selections. Thomas and Amber Laing were honorable mention. Additionally, Blackburn and Malpass were named to the All-NCCAA Midwest Region Team.

Price bounces back for solid senior season

CEDARVILLE, Ohio (11-14-2006) - Five concusions - that would stop many people from playing contact sports, but not Abby Price. After accidentally getting elbowed in the head by her own teammate during practice halfway through last soccer season, Price was forced to hang up her spikes for the remainder of the year. It was a difficult time for the NCCAA All-America Scholar-Athlete as she was left with persistent headdaches for two straight months. [FULL STORY]
