The Spirit Unit consists of the Cheerleaders and Mascot! They are visible at all home basketball games, selected away basketball games, selected other sporting events, community service events, conference, regional and national competitions. The unit not only prides themselves on giving 100% percent at practices, games and competitions but on the high academic standards they set for themselves in the classroom!
Also, the Spirit Unit is dedicated to upholding the rich traditions of Cedarville University through leadership skills, dedication, commitment, community involvement, mentorship to the youth of today and promoting school spirit through sporting events, exhibitions and competitive events.
The cheerleaders' primary mission is to interact with the crowd to generate enthusiasm and spirit for the Jackets. They also serve as ambassadors for the university and its athletic department at various events, such as fundraisers and charitable events.
We have the opportunity to have the best seat in our facilities, cheering for the best teams, with the best fans!!!
The Cedarville cheerleading program is a student sport. In order to be a successful CU cheerleader, the student's first priority shall be to academics. Next, the cheerleader should be given opportunities to develop into a responsible and mature adult.
