Wise heads Cedarville group on All-AMC Team

CEDARVILLE, Ohio - Junior forward Kelly Wise has been voted to the American Mideast Conference Second Team for the 2008 women’s soccer season. Four other Lady Jackets were selected to the All-AMC Third Team.

Wise, a native of Mohnton, Pa., is still Cedarville’s leading scorer despite missing the last four-plus games of the regular season. She started all 14 contests in which she played with 14 goals and an assist for 29 points. Wise was an All-AMC South Division Second Team selection as a sophomore.

Voted to the Third Team were goalkeeper Amber Laing, defender Lacie Condon, midfielder Erin Landers, and forward Kelsey Watkins. Laing, a senior from Warminster, Pa., made ten starts with four shutouts and a 1.14 goals against average. She was aided in the back by Condon, a junior from Columbus, Ohio, who started all 16 matches in which she played and helped the defense to seven total shutouts and a 1.13 GAA.

Landers, a junior from Centerville, Ohio, started all 18 matches at midfield. Watkins, a freshman from Parkersburg, W.Va., ranks second on the team in scoring with nine goals and two assists for 20 points. Jill Carroll, a freshman midfielder, was recognized as AMC honorable mention.
