PITTSBURGH, Pa. - Erin Landers scored early in the second half to give the Lady Jackets a 1-0 win at Carlow in American Mideast Conference action.
It was the second victory in three days in Pittsburgh for Cedarville, 7-6-1 overall and 5-2-1 AMC. The women were 2-1 winners at Point Park on Saturday.
Landers followed up a goal and an assist at PPU with all the scoring the Lady Jackets would need at Carlow in the 60th minute. She received a pass from Jaimie Watkins as she was breaking through the back line of the Celtics and finished off a one-on-one with the keeper for her fourth goal of the season. Watkins was credited with her team-leading fifth assist.
It was not a particularly busy afternoon for freshman keeper Alysia Bennett, who registered her sixth shutout of the campaign. She made one save.
Cedarville had the advantage in total shots, 13-5, and in shots on goal, 5-1. The Lady Jackets enjoyed a 10-0 bulge in attempted corner kicks. [STATS]
