Lady Jackets shut down by MVNU

CEDARVILLE, Ohio - Two quick goals midway through the second half allowed Mount Vernon Nazarene to blank Cedarville, 2-0, in an American Mideast Conference match which closed out the 2009 season for the Lady Jackets.
The AMC playoff-bound Cougars finally broke a scoreless with a pair of goals just 70 seconds apart. The first came off a breakaway in the 66th minute while a header off a corner kick soon thereafter provided insurance for MVNU, 10-5-1 overall and 8-3 AMC.
The Lady Jackets were outshot 11-5 overall and 8-2 in shots on goal. Brianne Barnes got the start on Senior Day and made two saves. She was relieved by Alysia Bennett, who tallied three saves.
Cedarville ends the regular season at 7-8-2 and 5-4-2 AMC. [STATS]
