CEDARVILLE, Ohio - Freshman Katie Gillespie won for the third consecutive time to lead the NAIA #7 Lady Jackets to a runner-up finish in the American Mideast Conference Championship at the Elvin R. King Cross Country Course.
Gillespie posted a winning mark of 18:09 for the 5,000 meters. It was her fourth individual title of the season.
Lydia Wong was the runner-up in 18:12 to earn All-AMC First Team honors (top seven finishers) for the fourth time in her career. Carolyn Case joined Gillespie and Wong on the first team by placing 7th in 19:01.
Rachel Wong was 17th in 19:40 for All-AMC Second Team recognition. Neola Putnam was 23rd in 19:56 and was honorable mention. The top 21 finishers in the team scoring achieve AMC awards.
Hannah Lamos was 30th in 20:32. Sarah Stevens rounded out the Cedarville scoring with a 34th-place finish in 20:45.
NAIA #5 Malone won the meet with 32 points. Cedarville totaled 44 points while Shawnee State had 102.
