CEDARVILLE, Ohio - The National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics announces that the Yellow Jacket men's and women's tennis teams as well as the men's golf squad are 2009-10 NAIA Scholar Teams.
The Lady Jacket tennis unit produced a 3.72 cumulative grade point average which tied for the ninth-best GPA in the country out of 857 total teams. The top 44 teams in the rankings are all female.
The men's golf team finished with a 3.56 GPA which tied for third place in the nation among all male programs and was tops in the American Mideast Conference. The men's tennis team tallied a 3.53 GPA.
A total of 55 teams from the AMC are in the list. The group includes 38 women's programs and 17 men's.
For a team to be considered for the NAIA Scholar Team award, it must have a minimum 3.0 grade point average on a 4.0 scale as defined by the institution. The team grade point average must include all varsity student-athletes certified as eligible.
