Cedarville explodes for 6-2 G-MAC win

Box Score ELKINS, W.Va. - Joel Twinem scored twice to lead to lead an offensive barrage for #2 seed Cedarville that produced a 6-2 result over #3 Trevecca Nazarene in a Great Midwest Athletic Conference semifinal match.

The Yellow Jackets, 13-3-3 overall, advance to meet host and top seed Davis & Elkins for the title on Saturday at 1:00 p.m. The Senators also won their semifinal match, 6-2, against #4 Salem International.

CU never trailed after jumping to a 2-0 lead. Todd McKinley scored unassisted in the 11th minute when his 22-yarder deflected in off of a defender. Dillon King finished off a corner kick from Zach Harris two minutes later.

Twinem netted his first from Daniel Rigby in the 40th minute. However, TNU stayed in the match and kept it a 3-2 difference at the break.

The final 45 minutes all belonged to the Yellow Jackets as goals by Christian Alexander, Harris, and Twinem made it a blowout. CU defeated the Trojans three times this fall and outscored them 12-2 in the process.

"I thought we played well today," remarked Head Coach Brett Faro. "We made a few defensive errors, but we adapted to what Trevecca was giving us and created some real quality goals.

"We talked before the game about earning two more days together as a team and we did that today. D&E is a good team and we will need a very good performance from everyone on Saturday to get a positive result."
