CEDARVILLE, Ohio - Midwest Region Player of the Year
Logan Kasabian as well as
David Lenhardt were both named to the NCCAA All-America First Team to highlight the Yellow Jackets' honorees for the 2013 campaign.
David Ledbetter was selected an All-American for the third straight year by gaining a slot on the second team.
Kasabian, a senior from Springfield, Ga., batted a team-high .422 while helping Cedarville to its third straight Midwest Region title and a berth in the national tournament. The first baseman set a single-season school record with 78 hits while driving in 41 runs.
Lenhardt, a sophomore catcher from Batavia, Ohio, posted a .415 batting average. He paced the club with four home runs and 47 RBI's.
Ledbetter, a junior righthander from Fishers, Ind., finished 6-5 on the mound with a 3.15 ERA. A first team All-America choice in both 2011 and 2012, he leads NCAA Division II nationally with an average of 13.38 strikeouts per 9 innings.
Steve Cardwell, a sophomore from Massillon, Ohio, was named to the NCCAA All-Tournament Team. He batted .455 in the four games and finished with a 4-for-4 performance in a 9-2 win over Mount Vernon Nazarene with a double, home run, and four RBI's.
Ledbetter,
Chris Fox, and
Rob Nesteroff were recognized as NCCAA Scholar-Athletes. The list includes juniors and seniors, who maintain a minimum 3.40 cumulative grade point average.
