CEDARVILLE, Ohio - G-MAC champion
Daniel Michalski placed ninth and Cedarville was eighth as a team in the NCAA Division II Midwest Regional at the Elvin R. King Cross Country Course.
Michalski's time for the 10,000 meters was 31:39.1. He now awaits word on a possible at large berth to the NCAA Championship.
Ethan Sullivan finished 39th in 32:41.4.
Zac Bowen came across the line 54th in 33:06.9 and
Andrew Testas was 57th in 33:12.0.
Rounding out CU's top seven were
Alex Shrock (79th; 33:34.6),
Alec Weinhold (89th; 33:45.1), and
Ethan Gatchell (132nd; 34:29.2).
Grand Valley State successfully defended its title with 58 points. The rest of the top five were Southern Indiana (72), Lewis (107), Walsh (117), and Bellarmine (123).
The top three teams earn automatic berths to the NCAA Division II Championship in Evansville, Ind. on Nov. 18.
Stinger Notes:
- This was the first NCAA regional in any sport hosted by Cedarville University.
- It was also the first-ever 10K race staged on the course.
- There were 28 total teams and 199 competitors.
- The G-MAC had four of the top ten teams.
