Biography
Kayla Linkous is in her final season with the Cedarville University women’s basketball team.....will serve as one of four captains this year.....one of four players to start all 31 contests during the 2014-15 campaign.....averaged a second-best 13.1 points per game while grabbing a team-high 6.3 rebounds per contest.....produced a .550 field goal performance on 143-of-260 shooting - third best in the Great Midwest Athletic Conference (G-MAC).....connected on 106-of-133 at the free throw line for a .797 mark - fourth-best in the G-MAC.....dropped in a career-high 34 points while adding 13 rebounds in a 78-73 home win over G-MAC opponent Kentucky Wesleyan.....brought down a career-high 14 rebounds in a late-season league win at Ohio Valley.....registered a perfect 13-for-13 effort at the charity stripe in the second game of the year versus Ohio Dominican.....scored in double figures 21 times while recording five double-doubles.....posted a streak of 12 consecutive contests in double figures.....tied for second all-time at CU with a .570 field goal percentage (341-of-598).....ranks ninth all-time with a .755 effort from the charity stripe (268-of-355).....NCCAA All-America Honorable Mention.....NCCAA Midwest Region First Team selection....member of G-MAC First Team.
2013-14 - Appeared in all 28 games with 15 starts as a forward.....second-leading rebounder with six boards per game.....third-best in scoring at 11.9 points per game.....led team in field goal percentage for the second consecutive season with a .594 effort (114-192) - fourth all-time at CU in a single season.....topped the squad at the charity stripe with a .795 performance (105-132).....scored a career-high 25 points in a Great Midwest Athletic Conference (G-MAC) win at Ohio Valley.....hit double digits in scoring on 17 other occasions.....hauled in a career-best 12 rebounds in a non-conference victory against visiting Wilberforce.....recorded a six-for-six field goal performance en route to 17 points in an 84-52 G-MAC win at Salem International.....produced three double-double efforts during the 2013-14 season.....ranks eighth all-time at Cedarville with a .730 free throw pct. (162-222).....G-MAC Honorable Mention.
2012-13 - Appeared in 24 of the 30 games with nine starts.....team’s third-leading scorer (9.4 ppg) and rebounder (4.7 rpg).....led squad with a .575 field goal percentage on 84-of-146 shooting.....produced a season-high 21 point effort in a Great Midwest Athletic Conference (G-MAC) win at Central State.....hit double digits in nine other games.....grabbed a season-best 10 rebounds in a non-conference win over Salem International....G-MAC Honorable Mention.....Bellarmine Classic All-Tournament Team selection.
High School - Produced a three-sport career at Tri-Village High School....four-year basketball letter winner.....member of three district championships teams and one regional title squad.....scored over 2,000 points and grabbed over 1,000 rebounds in prep career to establish new school records....also owns school-best marks for most points in a game (61) and season as well as most rebounds in a season.....averaged 25 points and 12 rebounds per game as a senior....played in both the Ohio North-South All-Star Game and the Kentucky-Ohio All-Star Game.....All-Ohio First Team honors.....District 9, Darke County, Division 4 and Southwest District Player of the Year.....four-year letter winner in volleyball....member of District 9 Second Team.....also two-year softball letter winner.
Personal - Sport business management major at Cedarville University.....born 12/10/93 in New Madison, OH.....daughter of Randy Linkous and Christy Sarver....father was a four-year member of the Otterbein basketball program.....has four younger brothers including Colton, a freshman member of the Yellow Jacket basketball team.
