Biography
Melanie Redfield is a four-year member of the distance running program.....only Lady Jacket to run in all eight varsity meets last fall.....earned a spot on the G-MAC Second Team for the second straight year.....placed 16th in the conference meet with a career-best 6K mark of 24:32.....finished 65th of 227 in the NCCAA Championship with a career-low 5K time of 20:00.....earned G-MAC First Team honors on the track as the 3,000 meter steeplechase champion.....NCCAA Scholar-Athlete.....G-MAC Academic Team.
2012 - Participated in four varsity meets as a sophomore.....ran in the G-MAC Championship placing 14th in 21:17.....All-G-MAC Second Team.....season-best 5K time was 20:18 at Wisconsin-Parkside.....finished 44th in the Friendship Invitational in 20:39.....NCCAA Scholar-Athlete.....G-MAC Academic Team.
2011 - Competed in four varsity cross country meets as a freshman.....best 5K mark was 21:14 at the Friendship Invitational.....participated in eight meets during the indoor and outdoor track & field seasons.
High School - Two-year letter winner in cross country at Penfield High School.....member of 2010 Section V championship team.....earned All-Greater Rochester Area Athlete honorable mention.....achieved four letters each in indoor and outdoor track & field.....helped lead team to 2011 Section V indoor title.....National Honor Society student.
Personal - Dean’s List student as a nursing major at Cedarville University.....born 3/2/93 in Rochester, NY.....daughter of Jack and Mary Redfield..... has two older brothers.
