Cedarville University Yellow Jackets

John Filcik is a three-time NCCAA All-American and two-time NCCAA Scholar-Athlete for the Yellow Jackets.....four-year varsity player.....member of the Student-Athlete Advisory Committee.....NCCAA All-America Second Team selection as a junior.....played 21 matches in the #1 spot with a 9-12 record.....finished 10-10 at #1 doubles with partner Jared Gerber.....NCCAA Scholar-Athlete.....voted to the All-G-MAC Team.....G-MAC Academic Team.

2012-13 - Played #2 singles as a sophomore with a 13-11 record.....joined Aaron Niemiec to go 13-10 at #1 doubles.....NCCAA All-America Second Team for the second consecutive year.....NCCAA Scholar-Athlete.

2011-12 - Produced an outstanding rookie season with the Yellow Jackets.....named to the NCCAA All-America Second Team.....finished with a 14-9 singles record including a 12-8 mark in the #3 slot.....had a 15-8 overall record in doubles.....teamed up with Aaron Niemiec to go 15-6 in #1 doubles.

High School - Four-year letter winner in tennis at Zeeland East High School.....earned Division II all-state honors in 2010.....two-time all-conference and Team MVP selection.....posted a 32-3 singles record as a senior and graduated with the most wins in school history.....twice named the Holland Sentinel Tennis Player of the Year.....led team to undefeated campaign as a senior by winning all dual matches as well as eight tournaments.....part of two conference championship squads.....salutatorian of graduating class.

Personal - Dean’s List student as an international studies major at Cedarville University.....born 2/12/93 in Holland, MI.....son of Kevin and Marcie Filcik.....has three older brothers and an older sister.
