Carsyn Koch is one of the most accomplished athletes in Cedarville University athletics history.....missed the entire 2017-18 cross country and track & field seasons due to injury.....hopes to return to form after a lengthy rehabilitation process.
2016 - Served as team captain.....USTFCCCA Division II All-Region Team as a junior placing ninth in the NCAA Division II Midwest Regional with a career-best 6K of 21:01.....led CU to region runner-up finish.....team’s top finisher in the NCAA Division II Championship in 21:54 where the Lady Jackets placed 11th.....G-MAC runner-up in 22:56.....G-MAC First Team.....placed 13th of 295 runners in the All-Ohio Championship in 22:15.....USTFCCCA Division II Midwest Region Indoor Track Athlete of the Year.....repeated as NCAA Division II Indoor 800 meter champion in 2:05.65.....also earned All-America honors for third place distance medley relay unit that ran a school record 11:19.55.....USTFCCCA Division II Midwest Region Outdoor Track Athlete of the Year.....repeated as NCAA Division II Outdoor 800 meter champion in 2:05.21.....ran the fastest 800 (2:02.87) and 1,500 (4:12.19) of the Division II outdoor season.....qualified for the USATF Championships in the 1,500.....repeated as G-MAC Female Athlete of the Year as well as CU Female Athlete of the Year.....CoSIDA Academic All-America® First Team.....USTFCCCA Division II All-Academic.....NCCAA Scholar-Athlete.....G-MAC Academic Team.
2015 - Produced a record-setting sophomore campaign.....served as a team captain on the cross country squad.....ran in six meets and was CU’s top finisher five times.....NCCAA All-American placing 3rd in a career-best 5K of 17:53.....led team to NCCAA title.....finished 25th of 224 in the NCAA Division II Midwest Regional with a season-best 6K of 21:46.....named to the USTFCCCA Division II All-Region Team.....placed 6th at Evansville in 18:20 and was 23rd of 592 in the All-Ohio Championship 6K in 22:23.....track season was second to none in Lady Jackets’ history.....U.S. Olympic Trials qualifier in the 800 meters as school’s first undergraduate to ever qualify and placed 5th in her heat in Eugene, Ore......NCAA Division II National Champion in both the indoor 800 and outdoor 800.....ran the fastest outdoor 800 meters in Division II history with a mark of 2:02.39.....USTFCCCA Division II All-America First Team both indoors and outdoors.....NCCAA Indoor champion in the 400 and 800 and NCCAA Outdoor Champion in the 800 and 1,500.....repeated as NCCAA Outdoor Female Athlete of the Meet.....USTFCCCA Division II All-Region Team both indoors and outdoors.....G-MAC Indoor First Team with wins in the 400 and 800.....set school records indoors in the 400, 800, mile, and DMR as well as outdoors in the 400, 800, and 4 x 800.....G-MAC Female Athlete of the Year and CU Female Athlete of the Year.....USTFCCCA Division II All-Academic.....G-MAC Academic Team.
2014 - Competed in six cross country meets and was among the team’s top three finishers each time.....led CU in the G-MAC Championship by placing 4th with a 6K time of 22:29.....G-MAC First Team.....ran a season-low 22:23 at the NCAA Division II Midwest Regional to finish 48th of 211.....placed 3rd overall in the Friendship Invitational with a 5K best 19:07.....ended up 22nd of 413 at Wilmington in 19:10.....Jackets’ top finisher in the All-Ohio placing 39th of 503 in 23:12 for the 6K.....phenomenal campaign on the track.....Cedarville’s first female NCAA All-American in any sport as the national runner-up in the outdoor 800 meters.....USTFCCCA Division II Outdoor All-America First Team.....NCCAA Indoor Champion in the 800 and distance medley.....NCCAA Indoor All-American in four events (800, high jump, 4 x 400, DMR.....NCCAA Outdoor Running Co-Athlete of the Meet.....NCCAA Outdoor Champion in the 800 and 1,500 for All-America honors.....took four seconds off of the school and NCCAA outdoor 1,500 record with a time of 4:24.26.....set six school records - two indoors (500, DMR) and four outdoors (400, 800, 1500, 4 x 800).....posted the three fastest outdoor 800 marks in school history after breaking the 29-year old CU record.....G-MAC First Team both indoors and outdoors.....G-MAC Outdoor Freshman of the Year.....G-MAC Freshmen Team both indoors and outdoors.....USTFCCCA Division II Outdoor All-Region team in the 400, 800, and 1,500.....USTFCCCA Division II All-Academic in both cross country and track & field.
High School - Produced a decorated career at Washburn District High School.....four-time Class C individual state cross country champion.....one of only three athletes in Maine to ever accomplish the feat.....helped lead school to 2012 Class C state championship as a junior.....all-state in track & field all four years.....garnered individual state titles in the 100, 800, 1600, 4 x 100, and high jump.....set the state record in the high jump (5-5.50).....four-time team MVP in both track and cross country.....invited to the New England Championships in track and cross country all four years of high school.....picked up four letters in basketball.....member of four Class D state championship teams.....two-time all-state on the hardwood.....played in the McDonald’s Class C/D All-Star Game.....three letters in soccer.....part of Class D state title squad as a senior.....earned all-state recognition.....garnered a combination of 17 team and state championships during prep career.....valedictorian of graduating class.
Personal - Dean’s List student as a nursing major at Cedarville University.....born 1/5/96 in Denver, CO.....daughter of Peter and Liane Koch.....both parents were athletes at University of Maine at Presque Isle.....has one older sister and a younger sister.
