Evan Thayer expects to make an immediate contribution in the distance events as a rookie with the Yellow Jackets.....one of three athletes to complete all eight varsity cross country meets in the fall and the only freshman to do so.....CU’s #3 runner and placed 11th of 91 competitors in the Cedarville Open with a season-best time of 26:05 for the 8K.....finished 48th of 228 at the Aquinas Invitational in 26:18.....American Mideast Conference honorable mention after placing 19th of 128 in 28:05.

High School - Three-year letter winner in four seasons of track & field at Naperville Central High School.....all-state 4 x 800 meter relay performer as a junior.....four-time state qualifier and three-time all-conference honoree.....member of two-time conference champion 4 x 800 unit.....participated in three seasons of cross country earning two letters.....two-time all-conference choice.....team captain in both track and cross country.....Illinois State Scholar.....National Honor Society student.
