The Courtyard Marriott Springfield Male Athlete of the Week (Sept. 29-Oct. 5) is soccer player Carter Selvius. The 6-foot-1 senior keeper from Byron Center, Michigan continued his 2019 solid play in the nets during a 1-1 double-overtime tie against visiting G-MAC foe Ohio Valley on Thursday, Oct. 3. Selvius posted his fourth shutout of the season in a 3-0 victory over league opponent Alderson Broaddus on Homecoming Saturday, Oct. 5. He lowered his season goals against average to 0.61 as the Jackets moved to 2-1-3 in the Great Midwest Athletic Conference.
