The Courtyard Marriott Springfield Female Athlete of the Week (October 6-13) is cross country runner Alayna Ackley. The sophomore from Hart, Michigan turned in a career-best 5K and the Lady Jackets finished fifth of 63 teams in the prestigious Queens Challenge in Charlotte, North Carolina. Ackley toured the 5,000 meters in 17:41.9 to wipe out her previous PR by nearly 26 seconds. She finished 12th of 541 runners at the event held on Friday, October 11 at McApline Park.
