MOUNT VERNON, Ohio - The NAIA Division II #5 Lady Jackets erased an 11-point deficit in the second half to post a 69-58 American Mideast Conference victory at Mount Vernon Nazarene for their eighth consecutive win.
A sluggish opening 20 minutes resulted in a 28-23 halftime deficit for Cedarville. The gap widened when the Cougars opened up a 41-30 margin with 15:05 left.
The momentum turned around when a 14-2 spurt over the next three-and-a-half minutes gave the Lady Jackets a 44-43 advantage. The two teams swapped leads until Alison Lemon's jumper at the 5:35 mark gave Cedarville the lead for good, 50-49. That basket was the catalyst to a 21-9 finish to the contest.
Lemon registered 21 points, eight rebounds, five assists, and three steals for the Jackets, 16-3 overall and 7-1 AMC. Aubrey Siemon piled up 14 points and 17 rebounds while Lydia Miller netted all 11 of her points in the second half.
Cedarville shot 52 percent from the field over the final 20 minutes while MVNU hit just 29 percent of its shots. The Cougars drop to 10-5 and 3-4 AMC. [STATS]
