Lady Jackets run string to 11 in a row

LIMA, Ohio - All five starters scored in double figures as NAIA Division II #3 Cedarville posted its 11th consecutive victory with an 84-74 decision at Northwestern Ohio in American Mideast Conference play.

Cedarville trailed 31-25 with four minutes left in the opening frame before taking over with 11 straight points. Caitlyn Brooks got it started with a field goal following by a trey and a jumper by Alison Lemon. Aubrey Siemon finished up with a pair of field goals and the Lady Jackets, who led 40-34 at the break, never trailed again.

CU held the Racers at bay by shooting 54 percent in the second period. The visitors methodically built the lead to 70-53 with 7:50 left. UNOH netted the final seven points to account for the final.

Lydia Miller scored all of her team-high 19 points in the second half for the Jackets, 19-3 overall and 10-1 AMC to retain the league lead. Siemon added 16 points with a career-high 22 rebounds. Lemon had 14 points and four assists, Brooks tallied 13 points, and Rachel Hurley produced 11 points with six assists.

Northwestern Ohio drops to 15-6 and 7-4 AMC. The Racers lost for just the second time in nine home games. [STATS]
